The five limbs of the day, calculated for the temple’s location.
Positions of the Sun and Moon are computed for the instant shown and for the temple’s latitude, longitude and elevation. The calculation engine is checked against NASA/JPL Horizons reference data; this is not a certification or endorsement by NASA, JPL or ISRO.
This is a drik (observational) Panchang. The day runs from sunrise to the next sunrise. Sunrise is the moment the Sun’s upper edge appears on the horizon, allowing for normal atmospheric refraction.
Tithi, nakshatra, yoga and karana are traditional divisions of the calculated angles, using the Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) ayanamsa. Printed Panchangs that use a different ayanamsa, sunrise definition or older calculation methods can differ by a few minutes.
